Submission Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

The Blue Dove Foundation is dedicated to addressing the pressing needs of Jewish communities around the world when it comes to mental wellness. Listening to the voices and ideas of members of those communities about mental health and Judaism is at the core of that goal.

To that end, we are always looking for audience submission pieces sharing personal experiences or thoughts about the connections between Jewish ideas and mental wellness. Pieces available on our website include personal stories of living with and/or overcoming mental health challenges, connections between Judaism and mental wellness practices like gratitude and connections between Jewish holidays and mental health.

If you would like to submit a piece for our resource library, please review the following guidelines. Pieces will be reviewed by our clinical and Jewish education team for content and, if approved, will be further reviewed by our editor for grammar and structure. Turn-around time per piece is typically one to two weeks.

When writing a piece, please keep in mind the following:

  • All references must be sourced.
  • Include a title.
  • The subject(s) of the experience(s) must approve all pieces that will be shared with our audience, even if they choose to use alternative names for privacy. A disclaimer will appear on pieces where names were changed for that reason.
  • There is no maximum length of a piece, but there is a minimum of four paragraphs.
  • Spelling of Hebrew and Jewish terms may be changed to match the Blue Dove Foundation’s normative spelling of these terms.
  • All texts that are not specific to a particular gender (referencing a character who is a male or female) must be translated into gender-neutral terminology, as per our policy.
  • All grammar must follow these guidelines, as created by our editor.
  • Please submit an author bio with all pieces. You will have the option of publishing anonymously; we just need to know who you are. Please include a photo if you wish.
  • OPTIONAL: A lot of our materials conclude with an activity for readers to do to incorporate the lessons of the piece into their personal and/or religious lives and practice. Consider reviewing our published materials for ideas about what you can do to help readers embrace the ideas you are trying to share.

We encourage you to share the published pieces on social media, tagging our organization to broaden the range of viewership. Thank you very much for sharing your ideas with us and our audience. Doing so makes the world a safer and more sensitive place for all.

When your article is complete, please send it to info@thebluedovefoundation.org, preferably as a Google Doc, or fill out the form below:
