Joe Alterman is an arts leader, scholar, journalist and world-renowned jazz pianist. He is the Executive Director of Neranenah, an Atlanta-based Concert & Culture series which celebrates Jewish contributions to music and the arts. As a pianist, he is hailed by greats; Ramsey Lewis describes his music as “happy music with tasty meat on the bones,” Les McCann states “Joe’s on a ‘blow your mind’ level,” and Dick Cavett has referred to Alterman as “one fine, first class entertainer.” As a journalist, Alterman has written liner notes to three Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra w/Wynton Marsalis albums. Legendary journalist Nat Hentoff called one of Alterman’s columns on jazz “one of the very best pieces on the essence of jazz, the spirit of jazz, that I’ve ever read, and I’m not exaggerating.”
Sarah Lynn Guillory has worked as a Sign Language interpreter for 17 years for the community including medical and religious settings, the CDC, and the United Nations. She worked for 2 years as the American Red Cross National Coordinator for Accessible Services and Technology. She currently works for the Social Security Administration as a Social Security Insurance specialist. She has participated in and given lectures on Disability, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging with the non-profit Braver Angels. She has been a parent advocate and has recently started as a Visually Impaired caller for Para Rock Climbing.
Jason Wheatley is Georgia-born and raised, originally from Alpharetta. Growing up around horses his entire life, Jason has a unique passion for animals. The love of speed and mechanics led to his first career as an automotive technician, the purchase of his beloved Mustang Mach 1 and an ultimate awareness that he loved cars but wanted a different long-term career path. Admirably, Jason began college at the age of 32. In 2014, Jason met his wife Jill at a Lockn Music Festival and they married January 2016. In 2017 Jason and Jill had identical twins, born 3 months early and the girls attended their Daddy’s graduation from Georgia Gwinnett College where Jason earned a degree in Business Administration. After college Jason took his first accounting job at Versaguard and ultimately transitioned to FOCUS Brands where he is thriving and rising through the ranks, now holding the position of Senior Restaurant Accountant. Jason and Jill share Jason’s son, Mason, who is 14 and lives in Virginia. He shares his Father’s love for cars and sports. All of us love Daisy, our lab mix whose job is to keep everyone on the straight and narrow.
